Purwokerto – A proud moment comes from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and Communication (FIBK) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP). One of its outstanding lecturers, Mrs. Titik Wahyuningsih, S.S., M.Hum., has earned the prestigious award of Best Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) Employee in the Lecturer Category as part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations of UMP in 2025.
This award is a form of appreciation for Mrs. Titik’s remarkable dedication in instilling and applying the values of Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan in the three pillars of higher education: teaching, research, and community service. As a lecturer in the English Literature Study Program, she is recognized not only for her expertise in language and literature but also for her commitment to embedding Islamic values within learning spaces and academic interactions.
“This award is certainly not mine alone. It is both a trust and a motivation to keep contributing — not only as an educator but also as part of the Muhammadiyah family, which continuously strives to uphold enlightening Islamic values,” Mrs. Titik said during an interview.
In her daily life, Mrs. Titik actively nurtures an Islamic atmosphere on campus. She often takes the lead in Islamic studies, student mentoring, and various social activities aligned with Muhammadiyah’s spirit of dakwah. Her consistency in instilling AIK values is reflected not only in how she educates students intellectually but also in developing their spiritual and moral character.
Furthermore, Mrs. Titik expressed her great hope regarding the role of the academic community in strengthening Islamic identity amid the challenges of the times:
“My hope is that people will no longer be afraid to admit that we are part of the Muhammadiyah family. There are still many who follow the teachings of their ancestors without knowledge, and by joining this organization, we gain a better understanding of practicing Islam in the right way.”
The UMP Rectorate, through various official channels, also expressed appreciation to all lecturers and academic staff who have actively contributed to strengthening Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan values on campus. The Best AIK Employee Award is given as both motivation and a reminder that the success of education is not only determined by academic achievements but also by role models in religious and social life.
This achievement is a source of pride for FIBK and serves as motivation for other lecturers and students to continue integrating Islamic values into both academic and non-academic activities.
Congratulations to Mrs. Titik Wahyuningsih on this outstanding achievement. May she continue to inspire the UMP academic community in spreading progressive Islamic values.
