Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto (UMP) Celebrates International Academic Achievement
Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto (UMP) has once again marked a proud milestone on the international academic stage. Aymen Mouhine, an international student from Morocco enrolled in the Faculty of Cultural Studies and Communication (FIBK), English Literature Program, successfully published his poetry collection entitled A Journey Beyond Borders: My Indonesian Sojourn. This publication not only marks his debut as an author but also serves as part of his final thesis project at UMP.
The poetry collection captures Aymen’s academic journey and personal life throughout his studies in Indonesia. Exploring universal themes such as love, travel, homesickness, and the beauty of everyday life, this work offers a profound reflection of his experiences and personal growth, both academically and individually.

Aymen Mouhine recently completed his studies at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto (UMP) in early 2025. His decision to publish a book as part of his final thesis symbolizes not only his academic achievement but also the personal transformation he underwent during his years immersed in a distinct academic and cultural environment. This work is also expected to inspire other students, particularly international students, to express their experiences and perspectives through literary works.

His academic supervisor praised the work as an expression that not only highlights the beauty of language but also portrays the experiences of international students in adapting and growing within a new environment.
With the publication of A Journey Beyond Borders: My Indonesian Sojourn, Aymen Mouhine demonstrates that literature can serve as a powerful medium to bridge cultures and share cross-border experiences. This work stands as evidence of UMP’s continued commitment to encouraging its students not only to excel academically but also to contribute to the global literary landscape.
