Purwokerto – Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto (UMP) proudly held its 76th commencement ceremony on Saturday, February 15, 2025. After years of dedication and academic pursuit, students officially received their bachelor’s degrees, marking an important milestone in their educational journey.
The offline ceremony, held at the Ukhuwah Islamiyah Auditorium, was filled with emotion and pride, particularly for graduates of the English Literature Program. With perseverance and hard work, they successfully completed their studies, defended their final projects, and overcame intellectual challenges throughout their academic years. Notably, several graduates also succeeded in publishing their scientific articles in accredited academic journals, demonstrating the competitiveness of UMP English Literature graduates in the fields of research and scholarship.
In this graduation period, the Faculty of Cultural Studies and Communication conferred degrees upon 14 students from the English Literature Program, who had been declared graduates during the yudisium on February 3, 2025. The graduates are: Okta Fiani, Muhammad Yusuf Fernanza, Kurnia Nanda Nirmala, Rico Anggit Prakoso, Zahrotun Nabilah, Rachmawati Setyaningsih, Embun Yumna Asy-syiffa, Anda Fara Wegawati, Rifda Faizatur Rahmah, Dhella Alvianda, Muhammad Farras Nauval, Aurora Magenta Diva, Putri Syahara Arini, and Aymen Mouhine.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies and Communication, Dr. Widya Nirmalawati, S.S., M.A., delivered a heartfelt congratulatory message to the graduates:
“Congratulations to all English Literature graduates. This milestone is not the end, but rather the beginning of a new journey. May the knowledge and experiences you have gained serve as valuable assets for your future. Keep creating, growing, and contributing meaningfully to society. Embrace lifelong learning wherever and whenever you are. We are proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing the impact you will make.”
This commencement reaffirms the commitment of UMP’s English Literature Program to producing graduates who not only master linguistic theories and practices but are also sensitive to cultural, social, and global issues. It is hoped that the graduates will emerge as agents of change who think critically, creatively, and humanely.
